
Leslie Ruiz
Research Assistant
Leslie Ruiz is one of our research assistants and she is responsible for pre-screening and identifying participants for our current studies from our internal database, incoming referrals from social media ads, incoming referrals from the community, and central recruitment campaigns. She also assists with keeping our laboratory supplies stocked and updated in our electronic lab supply system for all studies. She assists with collecting and monitoring the daily temperatures for our study drug room, freezers, and fridge She assists the study coordinators and the director of research with various other day to day tasks such as collecting vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, and EKG’s on our participants as well as processing all lab samples. She started with us in November 2020 as an intern who volunteered a few hours a week but was promoted to a paid research position in mid-December 2020 when an opportunity became available. Leslie is currently attending San Diego State University, Imperial Valley Campus, and working on a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and her estimated graduation date is Spring 2022. She is bilingual and CPR
certified.
